After 1.5 years of problems with Achilles tendon injuries in both legs, I turned to traditional Chinese medicine at my wits' end. After living with headaches for two years, and despite several visits to the doctor, there was no clarity. Ultimately, with difficulty, I was referred to the hospital, but no one there could say exactly where my complaints came from. It was quickly dismissed as stress. I was prescribed antidepressants, but I preferred not to start them.

That is why I started looking for alternative treatments that could help with headaches. That's how I ended up with acupuncture. During my search I found Dr.'s clinic. Chen. Fortunately, I was able to quickly go for a first appointment, and we immediately started with a combination of acupuncture and laser acupuncture.

I have now had a number of treatments and I can really say that my complaints have been reduced by at least 80%. I'm slowly starting to get my life back, and it feels so good!

Dr Chen is a super sweet, funny and wise man. He makes the correct diagnosis and is extremely professional. I came here because of tension headaches caused by cramped trapezius. Because my cervical vertebra had recently been replaced and my lower back had also had surgery in the past, Dr. Chen was super honest and clear about the 'long' treatment process during the very first treatment because I have difficult energy flow due to scar connective tissue. Dr. Chen knows so much. Both from TCM and Western physicians and, in my opinion, this combines wonderfully. He also gave me some herbs. I was skeptical at first, after a few weeks I haven't gotten rid of my complaints yet, but I do notice a difference. If you continue to discuss your complaints and listen to the advice, Dr Chen can help you through any problem. I am extremely grateful. It is also a super organized company, from making the appointment, to the websites, to the nutritional advice, etc., it is super clear and well expressed. In short, better than expected.

Een aantal weken terug ging met een behoorlijke flare up van het syndroom van Tietze (kraakbeen tussen ribbenkast ontstoken) naar dit centrum. Veel pijn en moeite om mijn rug te strekken.
Shandy was mijn behandelaar en zij luisterde erg goed naar mijn klachten.
Na de eerste behandeling kon ik mijn rug weer strekken en mijn rug voelde warm aan.
Inmiddels vijf behandelingen verder en het gaat goed.
Beweeg me weer soepel en zonder pijn.
Bovendien is Shandy een vriendelijk leuk persoon wat bijdraagt aan zeer positieve ervaring.

If I could give Mr. Chen more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! He and his team truly deserve it. I highly recommend anyone dealing with facial paralysis or Bell's Palsy to book an acupuncture appointment with Dr. Chen or any of his colleagues.

After the doctors at the hospital told me I would have to live with facial paralysis because my nerve was not functioning, I felt hopeless. However, after just a few sessions with Dr. Chen, my face became more symmetric. A month later, movement had returned. Dr. Chen provided me with a diet plan and Chinese herbs, but most importantly, he gave me hope from the moment I walked in.

I cannot thank Dr. Chen enough for his professionalism, empathy, and ability to listen to my needs. His positivity always brightened my day. De afgelopen jaren heb ik regelmatig last gehad van onverklaarbare buikklachten (opgezette buik, pijnlijke darmen). Inmiddels heb ik 6 behandelingen erop zitten en het gaat al stukken beter. Mijn buik voelt licht en prettig. Daarnaast heeft de behandeling ook een positief effect gehad op mijn menstruatie. For more than 20 years I had pain in my neck and shoulders/upper back, especially in my left monk's cap muscle. Immediately after the first treatment by Dr. Chen, my complaints were already 80% gone. Unbelievable but true. After a few additional treatments, the complaints have now completely disappeared. In addition, nutritional advice and Chinese herbal mixes have ensured that I have much less flare-ups (inflammation) in my joints as a result of rheumatoid arthritis (which I have been suffering from for 30 years). Currently the treatments focus on other pain complaints that I have. I am hopeful and, above all, grateful for the results so far.

Eighteen months ago I came under the care of Dr. Chen.

As soon as you arrive at the counter, the reception from the employees is extremely pleasant.
The diagnosis was consistent with what I had heard from another doctor years ago. However, I had never undergone acupuncture treatments before. Doctor Chen's acupuncture treatments have helped me enormously. The complaints have not been completely resolved, but progress is going slowly......but surely. I now have plenty of energy again! Thank you Doctor Chen.

I came to dr. Chen with a chronic headache that lasted for years and because of tiredness, pain spreaded to wider areas. No amount of physiotherapy, medicine or general treatment was able to reduce this pain. Dr. Chen assured me that it is possible to rebuild the area and reverse the pain. Last November (2022) I first came to Dr. Chen. After a difficult recovery from a number of vertigo attacks from Meniere's disease, I sought help to function normally again. Restore quality of life and return to normal work. I searched the internet for options to help cure Meniere. After an intake with Dr. Chen, I started with a 'protocol', as he calls it. That is 15 days every day (consecutive) acupuncture treatment. So every day, even on his days off, Dr. Chen comes to the practice to treat (what do you mean customer is king 🙂)! Those appointments for the 15-day protocol are also scheduled immediately so that you can start quickly. I couldn't drive myself at the time, so that did have an impact, not only on me but also on my environment (I don't live in Rotterdam). In the beginning I thought I would feel better right away, but recovery of your body also takes energy, so sleep a lot and recover for the first time. After the 15-day protocol we had planned a week of rest, which I also needed for a while and then I started to notice a difference. After that I had acupuncture twice a week every week. Every week it got better. And so reduced to 1x every 2 weeks at the moment. I keep going because I notice that it does my body good and has a real effect. Dr. Chen is also a very skilled man, has a lot of expertise and also helps with other complaints. In addition, he is also a very nice and funny man! So if you have physical complaints, whatever they are, I would recommend acupuncture to everyone with Dr. Chen!

Expert and pleasant treatments at Doctor Chen! After 4 years of occasional cardiac arrhythmias (especially a transshipment) these suddenly got worse and was therefore prescribed beta blockers. Pills in my body didn't feel good and wanted to have it investigated further. Went to Dr Chen in June 2023 and after a few acupuncture/laser treatments I was able to halve my beta blockers and even stop them after a few weeks. In addition to the treatment, I received good nutritional advice and herbal pills, the tongue is looked at and both wrists are felt.

Born in Rotterdam, but living in the USA for the past 25+ years. I was visiting family when I experienced serious pains around by knee.

When it did not go away or lessen after a few days of stretching and light exercises. I decided I needed professional help. After calling multiple different physical therapists and healers/acupuncturists, none of which could or would me with a few hours/1 day notice, Dr Chen was the only Doctor that took my emergency seriously.

Dr Chen opened his clinic early on a Saturday to fit me in and came in on his day off to do second session on a Sunday.

Dr Chen is personable, kind and engaging. He has a soft hand and a great sense of humor. But more importantly he cares about his patients. He helped lessen and manage the pain and he was upfront about it not going away miraculously, but it would make my flight back home more comfortable.

He also gave me diet instructions and lifestyle adjustments that will help mitigate the issues. All and all an amazing experience that I will not soon forget. And next time I am in town I will visit him again...hopefully under less urgent circumstances.

Al enige jaren kampte ik met het probleem van Restless legs syndroom (RLS). Ik had al verschillende keren aangegeven aan mijn eigen dokter dat ik met dit probleem kampte maar omdat er nog weinig over bekend was kon hij me niet gelijk helpen.
Op een avond gaf mijn vrouw een tip om misschien eens aan acupunctuur te denken. Diezelfde avond ben ik nog het internet opgegaan en ben zo bij Dokter Chen terecht gekomen. Na een intake gesprek is hij met de behandeling begonnen. Tevens kreeg ik ook tips mee om zelf aan mijn voedingspatroon te gaan werken. Het is de combinatie met de acupunctuur die in een aantal weken veel vooruitgang heeft geboekt. Sinds een aantal weken heb ik nauwelijks nog last van RLS, wat me meer rust gegeven heeft 's nachts maar ook overdag.

Na heel veel onderzoeken ie er bij mij een erfelijke aandoening geconstateerd , Leber. Mijn zicht ging enorm achteruit, in een rap tempo.
Ik kwam bij Dr. Chen met maar 5% zicht, hij gaf eerlijk aan deze aandoening niet eerder behandeld te hebben, maar dat hij 100% zijn best zou doen. Na een hele reeks intensieve behandelingen acupunctuur en een dieet, is mijn zicht niet alleen gestabiliseerd, maar zelfs enorm vooruit gegaan in korte tijd. Toen ik voor een check-up in het ziekenhuis kwam bij mijn specialist, is er uit de onderzoeken gekomen dat ik van 5% naar 60-70% zicht ben gegaan, de artsen waren verbaasd, en er was geen medische verklaring voor. Ik ben enorm blij met de acupunctuur behandelingen, en dr. Chen is een fijne arts.

Ik had last van hielspoor waardoor fatsoenlijk lopen bijna onmogelijk was. Bovendien was de pijn in mijn hak haast niet meer te verdragen. Ten einde raad heb ik een afspraak gemaakt bij Acupunctuur & Gezondheidscentrum Chen. Mijn beste beslissing in tijden. Binnen een aantal weken ben ik door Shandy van de ergste pijn verlost en kan ik me weer fatsoenlijk voortbewegen. Naast de acupunctuur heeft Shandy mij ook een aantal oefeningen meegegeven die werkelijk helpen bij het herstel. Al met al een zeer positieve eerste ervaring met acupunctuur.

Hello, I had pain in my lower back and shoulders and I found Dr. Chen office via google search. Since the time I started taking acupuncture to get ride of pain, I had a very positive experience with Dr. Chen. He is a very good and knowledgable doctor that do listen to patients. He is doing fantastic job and do care to all patients. Eventhough, my issues were resolved I still keep going to acupuncture to ensure my body will stay in healthy mode. I attended the clinic as i have suffered for twenty years with chronic trigerminal neuralgia. I was instantly put at ease by Mr Chen and his confidence that with the correct management and treatment we could ease this issue. I am now 5 weeks into the course and my pain is decreased significantly and i am attending now just once weekly. I can't give a high enough review and i would say if you have doubts you should at least go for an appointment and listen to Mr Chen. 10/10 service from the team there.

Dr. Chen is een super vriendelijke en grappige arts. Hij neemt de tijd voor je en geen vraag is te gek. Ik heb PCOS en mijn baarmoeder is heel de tijd aanwezig (beetje zeurend). Daarnaast loop al jaren met (soms ondraagbare) pijn vanaf een week voor mijn menstruatie. Dr. Chen heeft mij geleerd dat pijn nooit goed is en inmiddels ben

Nadat ik herhaaldelijk van 'reguliere artsen' te horen had gekregen dat ik écht helemaal gezond was, ben ik hulp gaan zoeken bij Dr. Chen. Zonder hem te vertellen waarom ik daar precies kwam wist hij door een kort onderzoek direct aan te wijzen waar ik last van had en waar het mis ging in mijn lichaam. Binnen enkele behandelingen i.c.m. Chinese kruiden voelde ik me vele malen lichter. Een aantal van mijn klachten zijn verdwenen en de rest wordt elke week weer een stukje beter.
Dr. Chen is ontzettend goed in wat hij doet, super vriendelijk, denkt altijd met je mee en weet wanneer je binnenkomt altijd direct wie je bent. Dit geldt overigens ook voor de rest van het personeel. Kortom: absolute aanrader.

Dokter Chen is super kundig. Ik kwam voor mentale klachten waaronder angst het grootste probleem was. Het gaat nu twee maanden verder zoveel beter. Hij is ontzettend aardig en begaan. Hij kan sommige dingen beter uitleggen dan menig regulier arts die ik heb ontmoet.

Inmiddels al jaren een vaste patiënt bij Dr Chen. Meestal voor klachten die gerelateerd zijn aan kantoorwerk waardoor ik last heb van schouder, nek en rug.

Waarom ik blijf terugkomen is dat Dr Chen mij altijd een warm en welkom gevoel geeft. Dat begint al bij het maken van een afspraak via Whatsapp bij mevrouw Chen. Een hele aardige dame!

Eenmaal binnen neemt Dr Chen of een van zijn collega’s echt uitgebreid de tijd om een praatje met je te maken. Dr Chen en zijn collega’s zijn ieder zeer bekwaam en leggen alles heel goed uit in zowel Nederlands, Engels als Chinees. De klachten waarvoor ik altijd voor wordt behandeld gebeurt middels cupping, acupuntuur of tuina massage. Voor de kosten hoef je het niet te laten. Als je een goede aanvullende verzekering hebt wordt het vast gedekt.

De tuina massage is echt het proberen waard! Een echte aanrader is Andre want hij heeft echt een goede paar handen. Hij is geduldig, luistert en vertelt er ook graag bij waarom hij iets doet. Jammer dat hij alleen maar 1 dag in de week werkt. Anders zou ik zeker vaker komen.

Als ik toch een puntje van kritiek moet noemen dan zal het zijn dat de wanden van de behandelkamers wellicht wat dun zijn waardoor andere patiënten mij helaas kunnen horen snurken.

Ik kan de praktijk van Dr. Chen dan ook van harte aanbevelen. Het voelt altijd alsof het thuiskomen is bij familie. Ga zo door!
